About Me
I grew up in Ashland, WI and went to the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, WI. I received my undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies, then went on to receive my Masters Degree in School Counseling, also from UW-Stout. During that time I worked at River Heights Elementary School as an After School Club Leader, was a member of the School Counseling Organization through UW-Stout, and participated in intramural sports. After graduating from college, I worked for 3 years at the Butternut School District as a school counselor and loved my job, but it was time for something new, which has led me to my position with the Ashland School District! It is a great feeling to be a part of my hometown and community again, while giving back to my school as well.
Outside of work and school I enjoy being outdoors and being active doing things such as four-wheeling, playing volleyball, rollerblading, swimming, fishing, and hunting. I am also a big Packers and Brewers fan. I have a 8 year old black lab mix named Lucy who is a sweetheart and loves people. I really enjoy spending any free time I have with my family and friends. My family lives in the surrounding communities, so with my family being very important to me, I am extremely excited to be able to stay in beautiful Northern Wisconsin.

My Philosophy of school counseling
As the school counselor I help all students with social/emotional development, career development/strength finding, and provide academic support. I believe that all children are special and unique and it is important for every student to realize their strengths and unique ways of learning and growing. Asking, “What is best for our students?” is the main focus and goal as a school counselor, and to be an advocate for every student - both of which I work very hard at achieving with all of my students.
